Choose the Support
that fits your situation.
Whether you need clarity about a record, physician-led support for one important appointment, help during a hospital stay, or a longer-term partnership for evolving care, Doc Envoy® meets you where you are. Every engagement is physician-led, scoped honestly, and built around helping you through your care rather than doing it for you.
Book a Discovery CallHow Doc Envoy works alongside your care team
Your physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants make medical decisions and deliver your care. Doc Envoy helps you understand what they have told you, prepare for the conversations ahead, and hold the story together across appointments, teams, and transitions.
The patient or a family member can engage Doc Envoy. Your envoy joins conversations with your care team only when the patient or their representative is present, and explains what has been shared to the patient and the family members they want informed. We do not contact your care team independently, and we do not open a separate line of communication about your care. Everything runs through you.
What a physician knows that a record does not contain
A medical record documents what happened. It does not tell you what usually happens next, which team owns the next decision, what the pause between one test and the next often means, or which delays are ordinary and which are worth a question.
Much of this work is also giving you language. Knowing what to call the thing you are worried about, and how to ask about it, often changes the answer you get. That knowledge comes from years inside hospitals and clinics, and it is what Doc Envoy brings to your situation.
How your envoy joins appointments
You invite your envoy into the room. For an in-person appointment, your envoy joins by speakerphone. For a telehealth visit, your envoy joins through a telemedicine link when the platform allows it, and by speakerphone otherwise. You remain the person in conversation with your care team. Your envoy may ask a clarifying question when it helps, and is there so you can follow what is being said and know what to ask.
Appointment attendance covers scheduled office visits and telehealth appointments, up to 60 minutes each.
Step 1
Discovery Call
We listen to what is happening and determine whether Doc Envoy is the right fit.
Step 2
Clear Scope
Before work begins, we confirm the specific service, price, timeline, communication plan, and boundaries.
Step 3
Secure Start
You receive instructions for sharing the information relevant to your engagement, and the agreed work begins.
When something needs clarity soon
When a record, a result, or a recent change in care needs translation, our asynchronous clarity services give you physician-led understanding without waiting for an appointment.

Rapid Chart Clarity
When you need clarity before the next important conversation.
Sudden diagnoses, unexpected test results, or major changes in care can leave important questions unanswered. - Asynchronous summary video (10 to 15 minutes)
- Up to 3 clarification questions, answered asynchronously
Investment: $750
Delivery: Within 2 to 3 business days after all records are received. Follow-up questions are answered within 7 days of delivery.

If this sounds like the kind of support you need, the next step is a Discovery Call.
Book a Discovery CallWhen you have one important appointment ahead
For high-stakes conversations with your care team, when having a physician present during the appointment could make the difference.

Single Appointment Companion
Physician-led support for one important appointment.
When you have one important appointment ahead, sometimes what you most need is a physician present with you for that conversation. Seeing your care team about a new diagnosis, when next steps or treatment options are discussed, is exactly that kind of appointment.
Includes:
- 30-minute preparation call: what to bring, what to ask, what to listen for
- Your envoy joins the appointment by speakerphone or telehealth link (up to 60 minutes)
- Written summary of what was discussed and decided
- Brief follow-up call to clarify next steps
Investment:
Standard (5+ business days’ notice): $825
Expedited (under 5 business days, subject to availability): $1,025
If this sounds like the kind of support you need, the next step is a Discovery Call.
Book a Discovery CallWhen someone you love is admitted
Hospital stays put patients and families in unfamiliar terrain.
Choose Hospital Envoy when you need support understanding the inpatient stay and already have a clear plan for care and follow-up after discharge. Choose Discharge Envoy when you would also benefit from support through the first days at home and the first follow-up visit, whether that visit is with your primary care provider or a specialist.
Hospital rounds move on their own schedule and are rarely announced in advance. Your envoy joins by speakerphone when available. Each business day, you and your envoy connect to work through what was discussed, what is likely coming, and what to expect next. What feels sudden to a family is often routine to the people who work there.
The more you can tell us at the start, the more useful the first day is. The admitting diagnosis, the team’s current plan, and any test results you have been given are enough to begin.
Hospital Envoy
Translation while the stay is happening.
Unfamiliar teams, rapid updates, and decisions that move quickly make an inpatient stay hard to follow. Hospital Envoy is physician-led translation and synthesis during the stay, so you can understand what you are being told, what is pending, and how the stay is moving forward.
Includes:
-
Your envoy joins rounds and other care-team conversations by speakerphone when available
-
One scheduled physician conversation each covered business day, with the patient and the family members they want informed, to work through what was said, what remains pending, and what to expect next
-
Plain-language translation of rounds, notes, records, and updates you share
-
Plain-language synthesis of the big picture as multiple teams weigh in
-
Guidance during discharge planning conversations: what to ask, what commonly happens next, and when it is reasonable to request a more complete explanation before you go home
Investment: From $2,500
Covers two business days of support, beginning once scope is confirmed. If the stay continues and you would like support to continue, additional business days are available for $1,000 each, with your approval before each one. Nothing renews on its own.
Hospital Envoy provides support Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Arizona time, excluding holidays.

Discharge Envoy
From hospital to home, and to the first conversation that follows.
The hardest part of a hospitalization is often the days after. Discharge papers, new medications, follow-up appointments, questions that surface in the middle of the night, and a follow-up visit with fifteen minutes to absorb everything that happened. Discharge Envoy carries you through the hospital stay, the first days at home, and the first follow-up visit, where the handoff often lands. That visit is generally expected within the first two weeks after discharge, according to the plan your discharging team provides.
Includes:
-
Your envoy joins rounds and other care-team conversations by speakerphone when available
-
One scheduled physician conversation each covered business day, with the patient and the family members they want informed, to work through what was said, what remains pending, and what to expect next
-
Plain-language translation of rounds, notes, records, and updates you share
-
Plain-language synthesis of the big picture as multiple teams weigh in
-
Discharge call: plain-language translation of your discharge instructions, your medication changes, and the warning signs your discharging team documented, including the contact instructions they provided for each one, on the day of discharge or the next business day when discharge falls outside business hours
-
Check-in 3 to 5 days after discharge home: review the hospital discharge instructions and capture what you have noticed since getting home in the Handoff Worksheet
-
Pre-appointment preparation call: finalize the Handoff Worksheet and prioritize what to bring to the follow-up visit
-
Your envoy joins the follow-up appointment by speakerphone or telehealth link, up to 60 minutes
-
Post-appointment debrief to confirm what was discussed and what remains open
Investment: From $4,000
Covers two business days of inpatient support, beginning once scope is confirmed, along with everything that follows discharge. If the stay continues and you would like support to continue, additional business days are available for $1,000 each, with your approval before each one. Nothing renews on its own.
If the discharge plan includes a stay at rehabilitation or skilled nursing before home, a second day-of-discharge call is available for $500 when the patient leaves the facility. It covers the facility's discharge instructions and medication changes. The check-in, preparation call, follow-up visit, and debrief begin after discharge home.
Discharge Envoy provides support Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Arizona time, excluding holidays.
If this sounds like the kind of support you need, the next step is a Discovery Call.
Book a Discovery CallWhen care is complex or ongoing
For patients and families managing care that spans months, multiple specialists, or evolving treatment plans, our partnership engagements provide sustained physician-led translation and synthesis.
Three engagement lengths are available. Choose the term that matches where you are. Each term is a commitment on both sides because reserving capacity is what allows the cadence to hold through active care.
Partnership engagements are accepted in limited numbers so that each family receives the attention this work requires.

Care Companion
Steady support through active care.
When medical care becomes ongoing, with multiple appointments, evolving plans, and several voices involved, it is easy for understanding to fragment. Care Companion is physician-led translation and synthesis so nothing important gets lost. This is a time-bound engagement focused on clarity, continuity, and ease, not medical decision-making.
Each month includes:
-
Up to 2 appointment attendances, by speakerphone or telehealth link, up to 60 minutes each
-
Monthly summary of new records and medication information you provide, up to 100 pages per month
-
One Ease and Strategy Session, which may include family members
-
Asynchronous messaging support, answered within two business days
Also included: an Orientation Call at the beginning of the engagement to establish priorities, communication preferences, and consent boundaries.
Appointments are allocated monthly and do not roll over.
The monthly structure is identical across both terms. The difference is the length of the commitment. Three months fits an active phase of care. Six months fits care that will move across several specialists or transitions.
Investment: $6,000 for 3 months, $12,000 for 6 months
|

Continuity Envoy

Up to 2 appointment attendances, by speakerphone or telehealth link, up to 60 minutes each
-
Monthly summary of new records and medication information you provide, up to 100 pages per month
-
One Ease and Strategy Session, which may include family members
-
Asynchronous messaging support
-
Priority scheduling and a one-business-day response to time-sensitive questions about information already provided or conversations already scheduled
Also included: an Orientation Call at the beginning of the engagement to establish priorities, communication preferences, and consent boundaries.
Included hospital-to-home support: one Discharge Envoy engagement during the engagement year, covering up to seven business days of inpatient support, for the enrolled patient. It does not roll over. When an admission occurs, contact Doc Envoy to activate it. Facility-transition extensions and additional hospitalizations are available at a 25 percent member discount.
Appointments are allocated monthly and do not roll over.
Investment: $24,000, paid in full for 12 months.

If you would like ongoing support without a full-year commitment, Care Companion is available as three- and six-month engagements and can be renewed. Those engagements do not include hospital coverage or priority response.
About the Ease and Strategy Session
A monthly touchpoint included in every partnership engagement. We review where care stands, what is coming up, and what to prioritize for the month ahead. The format adapts to what the month calls for: a live 30-minute video call, with family members welcome; an asynchronous video and written summary; or a written check-in during more stable months. The cadence remains monthly, while the format respects your bandwidth.
Every engagement starts with a call.
We begin by listening. You share what is happening, your goals, your concerns, and what your care looks like right now. We explain how Doc Envoy works and what it does and does not do, and we help you decide whether we fit where you are. There is no obligation to engage.

About asynchronous messaging
Asynchronous messaging covers written questions about your records, your upcoming appointments, and conversations that have already happened. Messages are answered within two business days. Continuity Envoy members receive a one-business-day response to time-sensitive questions. Doc Envoy’s business hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Arizona time, excluding holidays.
Messaging does not cover new or worsening symptoms, which belong with your treating team.
Doc Envoy is designed to become less necessary over time.
We work beside you while you learn how the medical system is organized, how to prepare for important conversations, how to ask questions that produce useful answers, and how to recognize what comes next. Success means the understanding you build stays with you, so you become increasingly able to navigate conversations and transitions without us, even when care remains complex.
If a 1:1 engagement is not the right fit right now…
The same physician knowledge behind these engagements is available in Doc Envoy’s guides and tools, starting at $29. The Hospital Day, the Hospital Insider’s Guide, A Patient’s Bedside Companion, and the Handoff Worksheet Bundle were written for patients and families preparing on their own.
FAQs
- Is Doc Envoy medical care or a second opinion?
No. Doc Envoy is a physician-led, non-clinical service. We translate how medical care is organized and communicated, synthesize the information you provide, and help you prepare for and understand conversations with your care team. We do not diagnose, prescribe, order tests, recommend treatment, provide a medical second opinion, or replace your care team.
- Why would I pay a physician when I already have physicians?
Your care team makes medical decisions and delivers your care. That is their role. Doc Envoy does not replace it and does not take part in those decisions. What often goes missing is everything around them: what the plan actually means, why two specialists can sound like they disagree when they do not, what the team is waiting for, and what usually comes next. Doc Envoy holds that thread across appointments, teams, and transitions, so you can follow what is happening and take part in it.
- How is this different from asking AI to summarize my records?
AI is useful for defining terms and producing a first-pass summary. Doc Envoy adds something different. A physician personally reviews the records and circumstances you provide, brings firsthand knowledge of how hospitals and clinics are organized and how they communicate, and holds the thread across your actual appointments and transitions. The value is not a shorter version of the record. It is a person who understands not only how the pieces fit together but how the puzzle was created, and who can tell you what to prepare for next.
- Will you talk to my doctors for me?
No. You or your representative remain in communication with your care team. Your envoy may join an appointment or hospital rounds when you invite your envoy in, and always with you or your representative present. Doc Envoy does not contact your care team independently and does not maintain a separate line of communication about your care.
- How does my envoy join an appointment or hospital rounds?
You invite your envoy into the room. For an in-person appointment or for rounds, your envoy joins by speakerphone. For a telehealth visit, your envoy joins through a telemedicine link when the platform allows it, and by speakerphone otherwise. You remain the person in conversation with your care team. Your envoy may ask a clarifying question when it helps, and is there so you can follow what is being said and know what to ask.
Rounds are different. They move on their own schedule and are rarely announced in advance, so your envoy joins when available. Either way, you go into rounds with questions your envoy helped you prepare, and the scheduled conversation afterward is where the day gets worked through.
- How does the daily conversation during a hospital stay work?
Each covered business day includes one scheduled conversation with your envoy, with you and the family members you want informed on the call together. There is no clock on it. A quiet day is short and a day with a new diagnosis is not. Developments after that conversation can be sent securely and are picked up the next covered business day.
- Which appointments count as an attendance?
Attendance covers scheduled office visits and telehealth appointments, up to 60 minutes each. Preparation is included and is not counted separately. Two appointments on the same day count as two attendances. Infusions, dialysis sessions, imaging appointments, procedures, and emergency department visits are not appointment attendances. Those settings are for treatment, testing, or urgent assessment rather than scheduled conversations about your care.
- What if my care team cannot include my envoy?
Some practices and some visit types cannot accommodate a call. When that happens, the included attendance converts to an expanded preparation and debrief, adapted to when we learn of the restriction. When we know beforehand, that means a 30-minute preparation call, a written question list for you to bring, and a 30-minute debrief afterward. When it comes up at the appointment itself, it means a debrief and a written summary.
- Are conversations recorded?
No. Doc Envoy does not record appointments, rounds, or calls, and does not take part in conversations with your care team that are being recorded. Your envoy takes notes and provides you with a written summary.
- How do I share my records?
After the Discovery Call and scope confirmation, you receive instructions for securely sharing your records. Records come from you rather than from your hospital or practice, because Doc Envoy is not part of your care team and has no independent access to your medical record.
- What if some of my records are still arriving?
Records are submitted within the window we set during the Discovery Call. When you tell us your upload is complete, we review the set for completeness, and your delivery window begins when we confirm review has started. If material records are still arriving at the end of the submission window, we will ask whether you would like us to proceed with what you have provided or revise the scope and timeline. Anything we deliver will note material records that were not available for review.
- What does asynchronous messaging include?
Written questions about your records, your upcoming appointments, and conversations that have already happened.
- How is hospital support priced when nobody knows how long the stay will be?
Hospital Envoy and Discharge Envoy begin with two business days of support, and additional business days are $1,000 each. Nothing continues without your approval, so the price never runs ahead of what you have approved. You are also never charged for a weekend or holiday, because support runs on business days.
- What if discharge happens on a weekend or after hours?
Preparation for discharge happens in advance rather than on the day itself, so you have the Handoff Worksheet and your questions ready in the room whenever discharge is called. Your envoy’s day-of-discharge call takes place that day when discharge occurs during business hours, and on the next business day otherwise.
- Why do unused appointments not roll over?
Monthly appointments reserve capacity in that month and keep a steady cadence through active care. They do not accumulate. If Doc Envoy must cancel an appointment, that attendance remains available to you and receives priority rescheduling.
- How is my health information protected?
Your records are shared and stored through the secure client portal used for every Doc Envoy engagement, not by email and not in shared folders. Access is limited to your envoy. Doc Envoy takes the privacy and security of your health information seriously and takes steps to protect it.
Doc Envoy is not a HIPAA-covered entity, because we are not part of your care team and do not bill insurance. How your information is handled is described in our Privacy Notice and in the confidentiality terms of your service agreement. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for any purpose other than your engagement.
- Who will my envoy be?
Every Doc Envoy engagement is led by a physician. Today that physician is Stephanie Kokseng, MD, a hospitalist with over fifteen years inside hospital medicine.
- What if I need to end an engagement early?
Either of us can end an engagement at any time with written notice. What happens to fees depends on how you paid. If you paid in full, fees are non-refundable once the engagement has begun, because we reserve time and capacity for you in advance. If you are on a monthly payment plan, your service continues through the end of the last paid month, and nothing further is owed after that. Either way, the summaries and materials we created together are yours to keep.
If your circumstances change, tell us. We will look at whether a different Doc Envoy service fits better. We would rather have that conversation than leave you in an engagement that no longer matches where you are.
- What should I do in an emergency?
Call 911. For new or worsening symptoms, contact your treating team. Doc Envoy is not an emergency service and does not provide urgent or around-the-clock medical care.
